MASIGIT WATERFALL

For exploration this week we visited Curug Masigit. Curug has the same meaning with waterfall. Masigit is mushola or a mosque where Moslems pray to Alloh. Masigit Waterfall, according to the story retold to the next generation, derives from the story that once there were many big and flat rocks around the waterfall which were used by the people to do sholat or praying.

Masigit Waterfall is located in rural area in Pasanggarahan Village, Kasomalang, Subang District, Jawa Barat Province. You can go there by car, angkot (public transportation), motorcycle or ngojek. The location is not so far from Kasomalang Traditional Market. After arriving at Kasomalang Traditional Market you can only ask the people or villagers there where to get to Masigit Waterfall.

Differ from our journey, we intended to go sight seeing and visiting PnT Factory. We firstly took the route to Cirangkong Village. The road was very challenging. The road went up and down. The driver manoeuvred like the letter U carefully. The driver also had to be patient to set aside if there was a car or a motorcycle passed each other.

After a long journey, we arrived at PnT (Pamanoekan en Tjiasemlanden) territory. We asked for permission to the guards to enter the Ancient House. This house is used as an office for the officers to run the tea and palm plantation. Unfortunately the Factory which was built for almost 200 years ago is in ruins now. The history of PnT will be told next time. 

When we were walking along the aisle to Masigit waterfall, we found a small and old mosque on a riverbank. We first thought that this was the Masigit as an icon of Masigit Waterfall. But it was not.

Masigit Waterfall lies in a very strategic location. After arriving at a car park, then we walked along the aisle of the villagers houses for about 400m. And then we had to go down the steep stairs to reach the waterfall.

The feeling of exhausted after walking seemed to disappear quickly by seeing the beautiful scenery and the dangling waterfall. We sat on a rock and dangled our legs in the clean and cold water. Felt free and fresh.

The water is always deeper than what it reflects (the quote by Marty Rubin). You can bungee jumping from the rock over the Masigit Waterfall. Get relaxed and floating gently in the water.

Cross over the bridge that extends over the river. See the blooming and colourful flowers to feast for the eyes and festive the day.
